Employer Provided Innovation Challenges (EPIC) provide learners and workers with access to authentic, employer-sponsored project-based learning through a network of business associations and other challenge providers. EPIC provides employers, as well as education and workforce development partners with a standardized platform to scale and credential employer-sponsored challenges that support career awareness, exploration, and development. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is working with its national network of business associations and employers to make authentic project-based learning available at scale.

Miami Tech Works EPIC Innovation Challenge

EPIC aspires to significantly scale high-quality work-based learning experiences through a national network of accredited clearinghouses that provide authentic, employer-led, problem-based learning experiences to learners and workers. This opportunity, provided by Miami Tech Works , offers local businesses the chance to collaborate with learners from Miami Dade College, with backgrounds in technology, business, data science, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship . These learners are equipped with practical skills in areas such as business analysis, marketing strategy, software development, user experience design, and research , and are eager to apply their knowledge to solve real business challenges. The learners will collaborate with you on the challenge by exploring how the problem might be approached, proposing innovative solutions, and presenting final recommendations and deliverables at the conclusion of the project. Resources needed: A clearly defined project challenge (preferably aligned with a current business objective) Designated company mentor(s) to meet with student teams weekly or biweekly A list of defined student roles and expectations for each project Access to any relevant data, tools, or systems necessary to complete the project Optional: participation in kick-off and final presentation sessions Resources Provided Support from Miami Tech Works in project scoping and student-team coordination Templates for project planning, role definition, and milestone tracking Midpoint check-in to ensure alignment and progress Final presentation event facilitated by Miami Tech Works Post-project feedback form and opportunity to engage in future rounds
